RiteCounter is hosted in the USA. It is run by a Ukraine outfit that does web site design, and has a very good reputation in the business, however, this counter is spyware. The data from any form on your page is sent to ritecounter.com when your visitor clicks the submit button. Customer email addresses, usernames, passwords, credit card numbers, etc. are all sent back to them. I'm pretty sure I won't be buying anything from a site with a Rite Counter on it. Hmmm... That's probably how I wound up buying airline tickets in two eastern European countries at the same time.

- Wait for the confirmation email.
The real cost of this counter is your web site's reputation and possibly your freedom. This site is on many blacklists, and is rated for malicious content, and adware/spyware on Web of Trust. Put a number in the box and click submit while watching the network using HTTPFox, HTTPWatch, or WireShark.
